Service/Parts Manager

West-Can Human Resource Solutions is currently recruiting for a Service/Parts Manager for a company in Brandon, MB
 
Reports to: General Manager 
Hours of Work:  Monday to Friday, 9:00 am to 5:00 pm

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support the General Manager in the achievement of the operation’s financial goals for the Service area including Service and Parts Sales, Gross Margin, Inventory Shrinkage and Payroll Goals.
  • Provide daily supervision and direction to the staff in the Service Department.
  • Schedule and assign all service and warranty work orders; ensure work orders are completed to the customer’s satisfaction on a timely basis.
  • Maintain and constantly strive to increase Technician/Assistant productivity.
  • Maintain a safe, clean and secure work environment.
  • Support a strong commitment to customer service and ensure a pleasant and productive service experience for all customers.
  • Assist the General Manager to staff the Service area with customer oriented Technicians and assistants; coordinate training; consult with General Manager and provide input on performance management; prepare weekly work schedules; coach and motivate department staff to promote positive customer relations and a productive team-oriented work environment.
  • Manage and ensure accuracy of unit and parts inventories.
  • Ensure warranty claims are created, submitted and warranty payments received on a timely basis.
  • Ensure products are properly detailed and unit deliveries are conducted in a friendly and professional manner as scheduled.
  • Assist the General Manager in executing other Supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the Company policy and Manitoba Labour Standards, including: training; planning; assigning and directing work; evaluating performance; addressing complaints and resolving problems; maintaining a positive working environment.
Qualifications:
  • 2-3 years in similar industry; Supervisory experience is an asset
  • Mathematical Skills / Reasoning Ability
  • Proficiency with PC-based word processing, spreadsheets, data based management, electronic point of sale and inventory management systems
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, commissions and percentages
  • Strong communication Skills
  • Ability to read and analyze reports
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from the business owner, other staff, customers and the general public.

Senior Business Analyst

West-Can Human Resource Solutions is currently assisting ChemTrade (formerly operating as Canexus) in recruiting a Senior Business Analyst for its plant in Brandon Manitoba.
 
COMPANY OVERVIEW

Chemtrade is one of the world’s largest suppliers of sulphuric acid and is a leading regional supplier sodium chlorate. Applications for ChemTrade products include water treatment, food and beverage, pharmaceutical, pulp and paper, industrial processing and agriculture. 

SCOPE OF POSITION
The Senior Business Analyst assists in the preparation of variance analyses and reports summarizing business results against the annual plan for the Chlorate business. Further they are responsible to prepare and analyze the annual plan and quarterly outlooks looking at key business drivers working with sales, operations, and other people in the business. In addition, the Senior Business Analyst will assist in special projects as required.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Along with the Business Controller, act as the key financial resource for all aspects of the Chlorate business;
  • Ensure all financial activity is conducted according to IFRS;
  • Provide financial and business analysis support and advice, including problem solving and critical thinking, to the Business;
  • Process month-end close entries and processes to accurately reflect costs.
  • Assist and help coordinate development of quarterly forecasts and annual business plan, including analysis of outlook for key business drivers and initiatives;
  • Conduct analysis and prepare explanations/reports on Actuals versus Plan on sales, supply and production volume variances, net price variances, period costs, raw material purchase price and usage variances, and other variances as directed by the Business Controller;
  • Act as a business unit subject matter expert (SME) for SAP and BI reporting;
  • Work collaboratively with all areas of the business to identify and understand strategic business requirements and priorities
  • Prepare Stats Canada reports for the Energy Survey and Annual Survey of Manufacturing
  • Assist in preparation of quarterly presentation to Leadership Team summarizing results, key variances, and outlook for the Chlorate Business
  • Prepare analysis of key business drivers and initiatives contained in the Annual Plan versus Prior year Annual Plan or Latest Estimate
  • Analyze impacts of changes to “status quo” supply sourcing options, customer mix changes, supply chain infrastructure additions and Manufacturing plant changes.
  • Identify areas for process improvements and streamlining of activities.
  • Provide information or complete one-time analysis / modelling as periodically requested by the Business Controller
  • Become familiar with Environmental, Safety & Health (ES&H) policies and procedures
  • Assist in the process of gathering assumptions from Sales, Marketing, and Manufacturing functions for inclusion into the annual Plan for the Chlorate Business
 
REQUIREMENTS
  • 5+ years of management accounting experience, variance analysis, and participation in the budget process.
  • University degree in accounting or finance with preference given to a MBA.
  • Accounting Designation (CPA or legacy designation) an asset
  • SAP experience with strong working knowledge of all modules.
  • Very strong MS Excel skills required (formulas (such as VLOOKUP, SUMIF, IF, etc.) Pivot tables, charting, linking multiple workbooks).
  • Working knowledge of MS Word and PowerPoint
  • Ability to travel up to 5%

Facility Maintenance Supervisor


West-Can Human Resource Solutions, on behalf of an company in Brandon, is currently recruiting a Facility Maintenance Supervisor for work in Brandon Manitoba.

The Maintenance Supervisor will directly supervise day-to-day activities of the maintenance staff, monitor the distribution of work, training and development, and staff performance management. Specifically, the Maintenance Supervisor will be responsible for supervising employees and contractors, monitoring preventive maintenance programs, overseeing facility repairs, maintenance planning, and managing the execution of capital projects and outages for the purposes of equipment overhaul and repair.

To be considered for this position, you must have a solid background in power and/or industrial plant maintenance, preferably with a minimum of 5 years of first-line supervisory responsibilities, and experience in planning and coordinating major maintenance/overhaul projects. Must possess solid administrative and computer skills and experience with Excel.  Knowledge of computerized maintenance management software for HVAC monitoring is a plus. A combination of technical training and/or work experience will be considered in lieu of formal engineering certificate/degree.

CAD Technologist or Technician

 
West-Can Human Resource Solutions is currently recruiting for a CAD Technologist or Technician in Brandon, MB.
 
Hours of work:  Monday to Friday 8:00 am to 5:00 pm

Summary of Position:
We are seeking an experienced CAD Technologist or Technician to work with an existing drafting department.  This company is currently using AutoCAD 3D, however, will be transitioning to a Revit based program soon.  Revit experience would be an asset, but training will be provided.

Duties:
  • Drafting detailed dimensional drawings, layouts, and shop drawings
  • Maintenance of panel connection design
  • Assisting with estimating
  • Other duties as assigned

Suggested Qualifications:
  • Civil Engineering Technologist or Technician Diploma from an accredited school
  • Technologist or Technician Association certification considered an advantage
  • 2+ years of experience in structural construction
  • Experience and comprehension with AutoDesk programs
  • Knowledge of construction principles, practices, and techniques
  • Excellent communication skills including written, verbal and interpersonal
  • Strong organizational, administrative, and problem solving skills with attention to detail
  • Experience with Microsoft Office
