Our Recruitment and selection services
Our recruiting objective is to provide organizations with a cost-effective alternative to completing their own recruitment and selection. The recruitment and selection services we provide to clients include the following:
1. The Development of an accurate, concise job description for organizations that don’t have job descriptions. This not only ensures that we have a strong understanding of the job and the skill sets required to fill the position, but also provides the employer with information for employee orientations.
2. Once we have a strong understanding of the recruiting organization, the position, and what it entails, we access our database for potential candidates. When reviewing the candidates, we take into account personality, presentations and how the individual would adapt within the organization.
3. If we aren’t satisfied with candidates from our database, we go to numerous other resources to find individuals that have the necessary skill sets. Ads placed to attract additional applicants may or may not include the clients’ name, depending on client preference.
4. We provide the employer with a list of top candidates for the position, based on the number of interviews the client wishes to schedule. In providing the employer with the top candidates, we successfully eliminate countless hours of reading through the numerous resumes that an ad can produce.
5. Many of the positions that we are contracted to fill require very specialized skill sets. Our service includes administering a variety of skill-based tests that assist in assessing specific competencies. As much as possible, we try to emulate job requirements and conditions with our tests, providing the employer with strong, comparative data on potential candidates. As part of the testing, we can verify proficiencies in specific computer programs, understanding of accounting practices, level of language skills, and typing abilities. We also administer a number of personality and behavioural tests that can provide additional insight into the candidate’s personality.
6. Once the employers have identified the candidates they wish to interview, we can assist in developing a list of effective, objective interview questions to eliminate the one or two word answers that often occur in an interview situation. We try to ensure that the questions probe past-job experiences, which are verifiable during reference checks. Assistance in the actual interview process is also included as a part of our service.
7. For the successful candidate, we will perform reference checks and provide you with written details from each of the references. The reference questions that we ask probe at job-related situations. In doing reference checks, we are not perceived as being directly responsible for the hiring decision, and therefore some of the employer biases are eliminated.
8. West-Can Human Resource Solutions provides the employer with a minimum three-month guarantee on employees that we place with their company. Should we be unable to locate satisfactory replacement, recruitment fees are refunded.
