CAD Technologist or Technician

West-Can Human Resource Solutions is currently recruiting for a CAD Technologist or Technician in Brandon, MB.

Hours of work:  Monday to Friday 8:00 am to 5:00 pm

Summary of Position:
We are seeking an experienced CAD Technologist or Technician to work with an existing drafting department.  This company has recently tranisitoned to a Revit based program soon.  Revit experience is a must.


  • Drafting detailed dimensional drawings, layouts, and shop drawings
  • Maintenance of panel connection design
  • Assisting with estimating
  • Other duties as assigned

Suggested Qualifications:

  • Civil Engineering Technologist or Technician Diploma from an accredited school
  • Technologist or Technician Association certification considered an advantage
  • 2+ years of experience in structural construction
  • Experience and comprehension with Revit
  • Knowledge of construction principles, practices, and techniques
  • Excellent communication skills including written, verbal and interpersonal
  • Strong organizational, administrative, and problem solving skills with attention to detail
  • Experience with Microsoft Office

Material Handler

West-Can Human Resource Solutions is currently recruiting for a Material Handler with EMCO located in Brandon, MB.

Hours of work:  Monday to Friday 7:00 am to 4:00 pm


This Material Handler ensures the safe and efficient receipt, storage and dispatch of warehouse materials, goods and products to meet business operations and customer demand.


  • Operate in a safe manner complying with all health, safety and environmental requirements to ensure own and safety of others
  • Safe and efficient movement of product within the warehouse and yard
  • Unloading and loading of trucks
  • Picking, packaging, and shipping transfers and customer orders
  • Operation of material handling equipment, including forklifts and pallet jacks
  • Input data regarding stock and inventory into a computerized system
  • Answer phones for incoming orders providing strong customer service, and follow up with customers on items ready for pick-up
  • Order entry into computer system and expediting of product
  • Responding to stock and price inquiries
  • Uphold our Core Values and Ethics with every interaction
  • Other duties as required



  • Warehouse and inventory management experience preferred
  • Plumbing and heating product knowledge an asset
  • Grade 12 Diploma or equivalent required
  • Basic computer skills including Microsoft Outlook
  • Strong communication skills and work ethic
  • High regard for customer service
  • Ability to work well in a team environment, and to multi-task under pressure
  • Ability to lift between 50-70 lbs.
  • Previous sales and customer service experience preferred

Assistant Project Manager

Summary of Position:
Reporting to the General Manager, this key person provides project management and administrative support for both the General Manager and Project Managers.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Review / prepare contracts, tenders, and RFP’s while becoming familiar with terms & conditions
  • Draft master project documents, including Sub-trade agreements / contracts
  • Assist PM in the development of the overall project schedule
  • Ability to review drawings and specifications to become completely familiar with the project and identify long lead times and critical path items
  • Ensure contracts, insurance and agreements are current and received before subcontractor performs work on site. Follow up on all non-received documents and escalate issues to the PM
  • Review invoices and prepare billings and statements
  • Demonstrate effective relationship building within the project team and throughout the company. Keep field team members and PM informed and active in decision-making
  • Function as an assistant to the project manager, completing tasks as assigned
  • Manage diary and schedule meetings and appointments; take dictation / minutes as requested
  • Devise and maintain office filing system, office supplies, and contact lists
  • Provide general support to visitors, clients, trades, and vendors
  • Perform other clerical duties such as filing, photocopying, collating, faxing etc.
  • Maintains safety as the chief concern for every project
  • Assures the filing of all legal and regulatory documents and monitors compliance with relevant laws and regulations

Suggested Qualifications:

  • High School diploma & valid driver’s license required
  • Proficient in MS Office and English
  • Experience as an assistant an asset
  • Outstanding organizational and time management skills
  • Up-to-date with latest of computer applications
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize daily workload
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills
  • Discretion and confidentiality
  • Knowledge of office management systems and procedures
  • Experience in construction, blueprint reading, and quantity take offs an asset
  • Administrative diploma and/or Project management certification an asset
  • Experience working with MS Project an asset
  • Experience working with DCC (Defence Construction Canada) an asset
