Manual Machinist

We are currently recruiting for a Machinist position for an established local company 20 mins outside of Brandon, MB.

This company has been in business, serving industry for over 25 years. We are seeking a highly-motivated individual for their machine shop location who has excellent attention to detail, a strong work ethic, and demonstrated skill and ability in machining parts and components for a wide variety of equipment and pumps.

This position offers an above average base salary compensation, along with a strong benefit package.

Position Purpose:  Working as part of a growing and expanding team, the Machinist is responsible for dismantling industrial / agricultural equipment, measuring, machining parts, and re-assembly, ensuring the newly fitted components work as expected.

Required Experience:

  • Demonstrable manual general machining experience including the operation of lathes, milling machines, drilling machines, horizontal boring mills & align boring experience.
  • Excellent work ethic
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Physically reasonably fit and able to lift 50 lbs

Qualifications:

  • Combination of education and experience in manual machining. Minimum Grade 12 graduate.

Responsibilities: 

  • dismantling incoming pumps / equipment
  • Measuring and identifying worn components
  • specifying repairs to be completed
  • sketching and machining new components
  • assuring fit of new components
  • verifying fit during pump / equipment assembly

.Net Application Programmer

West-Can Human Resource Solutions is currently recruiting for a .net Application Programmer position for an established local company in Brandon, MB.

Position Description:  The .Net Application Programmer is responsible to write, code, test and analyze programs, and lead application development all the way through to deployment, either independently or as the head of team. The Application Programmer will also research, design, document, modify software specifications, analysis of business needs, and communicating with project stakeholders throughout the production life cycle of a project.

Required Experience:

  • Proven work experience in Application Development (3 to 5 years)
  • VB / C# .Net environment/familiarity with the Microsoft development tools and technologies preferred.
  • Experience with web based architectures and design practices such as ASP.Net, React JS, Angular JS, Bootstrap, JavaScript, node.js, HTML, and CSS.
  • Previous experience in client server windows and web based applications.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, Commerce or equivalent work experience.
  • Knowledge of database design and queries, SQL (MS SQL Server 2014), DB2 (iSeries)
  • Team player with excellent communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills to juggle multiple tasks within the constraints of timelines and budgets.
  • Broad knowledge of applications, computer-based information systems, networking, system management, security, telecommunications, web technologies and user support services is required.
  • Able to provide detailed estimates for timelines on the software development cycle
  • Strong analyst skills are a must, with a focus on gathering requirements and recommending solutions
  • Ability to define development requirements and assist in the integration of third party tools and applications
